Kirsten Clark developed a deep and abiding love for stories at a young age, and has been plotting how to become an author ever since. When not writing sweet inspirational romances, she can be found in the classroom teaching at her local college, curled up with a cup of coffee and a good book, or baking chocolate cake while listening to podcasts. A graduate of the Universities of Alberta and British Columbia, she lives in Alberta, Canada with her husband and two children, who keep her on her toes.
I've wanted to be an author for as long as I can remember.
I run my local Silent Book Club chapter.
I love teaching and learning! I recently completed a Certificate in Teacher Librarianship and am currently pursuing a Master of Education degree in Holistic School Health and Well-Being.
My body reacts physically to gross injustice. My cheeks get hot, my stomach churns, and my chest breaks out in red hives. My moral compass for right and wrong makes itself known viscerally.
I’ve read at least 50 books every year since 2015.
When I was a kid I thought that in “the olden days” the world was black and white, since that’s how their photographs look.
My favourite ice cream flavours are birthday cake and cookie dough.
I hate the sound/feeling of fingernails being rubbed on a holographic agenda cover. It actually makes me shudder.
Unlike most people who start drinking coffee with cream and sugar and transition to black, I started drinking black coffee and transitioned to double-doubles while pregnant since black coffee made me gag. I’m slowly making my way back to black - I take one cream and one sweetener now.
I can wiggle my ears.
I tripped over the riser at my grade three Christmas concert while dressed up as a magical toy, which meant wearing a giant cardboard box. I momentarily blacked out, got back up, and we started our performance over again.
I find true crime shows and podcasts to be relaxing.
I love washi tape, sharpies, and colourful pens.
My perfectionist tendencies have softened as I grow older. I now know that done is better than perfect.
I make delicious brownies and cake.
I love organizing things to make them more efficient.
I make my bed every single day.
My house is usually pretty tidy. I find it hard to write, relax, or just generally exist in a messy environment.
I love libraries and bookstores . They just have so much good energy.
My bad habit is scrolling through my phone while watching TV. I’m trying to be purposeful about putting my phone away more.
Canva is one of my favourite websites.
I open and deal with all emails every few days. I hate seeing notifications for unread messages!
Swimming, hockey, and running races hold special places in my heart.
I need time alone to re-energize.
I love happily-ever-afters.
“There is something in us, as storytellers and as listeners to stories, that demand the redemptive act, that demands what falls at least be offered the chance to be restored.”
